Hunger News

Grille 29 partners with the Food Bank of North Alabama to end hunger in our community.

Grille 29 is proud to partner with the Food Bank of North Alabama in an effort to end hunger in our community. We will launch a new brunch menu on Saturday, March 28, 2020  with our new Mimosa price of $2.29 from 10am-2pm. For every Mimosa sold, Grille 29 will donate a portion of the proceeds to our local organization.

Some info about the Food Bank:
The Food Bank of North Alabama is a Huntsville based non-profit leading the fight against hunger by working to feed the hungry today and create solutions to end hunger tomorrow. We help provide food directly to those in need through our mobile pantries and to over 260 charitable organizations across 11 counties in North Alabama, including emergency food pantries, homeless and women’s shelters, soup kitchens and recovery and addiction services. The counties in our coverage area include: Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan counties.
The Food Bank also creates programs that serve North Alabama’s most vulnerable people directly, providing the most nutritious food possible to those in need. We directly serve seniors and children at various mobile pantries and regular distributions at Title 1 schools and with monthly distributions to seniors through a monthly federal commodities program.
In 2019 the food bank set an organizational record with 10.99 million pounds of food distributed across our coverage area. The Food Bank of North Alabama is a member of Feeding America.
In terms of impact, the Food Bank of North Alabama can provide seven meals for every one dollar donated. The Food Bank and our partner feeding programs feed over an estimated 80,000 people a year – more than the combined populations of Decatur and Muscle Shoals. In terms of need, 1 in 4 children in North Alabama face food insecurity.
We look forward to seeing you at Brunch and greatly appreciate your support!
